For three nightmarish months, the ill-trained South Koreans and a hastily assembled hodgepodge of American forces fell back mile after mile. Regiments and whole divisions were annihilated. Then, fifty miles from the sea and through wich the North Koreans could not break. That was where the Korean War began in earnest.
