The authors of this text have been members of the same medical school department of physiology and have worked together for 4 years to present an integrated and current course on gastrointestinal physiology. This text is, for the most part, a result of this experience and our need for a book on gastrointestinal physiology written and designed for medical students and beginning graduate students....At the end of appropriate chapters is a section devoted to clinical tests that are based on the physiological principles discussed in that particular chapter
