The intent of this book is to provide a measure of practical training through examples of traditional and contemporary styles of writing for the double bass. It also deals with technique, facility, and endurance required for solo work by means of carefully graded exercises. These exercises are designed to strengthen the fingers, overcome difficulties in intonation, and, in general, establish a good contact between the student and the instrument.
