The Widow Traditions in Luke-Acts: A Feminist Critical Scrutiny

It is a commonplace in the study of Luke-Acts that its author, more than any other in the New Testament, has a pronounced interest in women. A bit less often it is noted that Luke has a surprising number of stories and sayings dealing specifically with widows. Where did he come by these materials? And what did he mean to do with them? To answer these two questions is the goal of this book.
