Presents descriptive statistics about traffic crashes of all severities, from those that result in property damage to those that result in the loss of human life. Statistics are presented about trends in motor vehicle crashes over time; the general characteristics of crashes; the types of vehicles involved in crashes & damage to the vehicles; drivers, passengers, pedestrians, & cyclists involved in motor vehicle crashes; & information about crashes for each state, the Dist. of Columbia, & Puerto Rico. With the exception of the statistics on trends in crashes which include data from 1975-96, all statistics are for CY 1996
