This comprehensive reference work includes each of the 116 former teams that played at least one game in the major leagues. For each, the nickname and any alternates are given, along with a brief history of the franchise. This is followed by a listing of he team's presidents, ballparks it played in, a season-by-season record, managers and highlights (e.g., World Series appearances, historic firsts, records set). Each entry concludes with a complete listing of all players (with their positions) who appeared in a game for the team, in order of the number of games played.
