Prayers For Mothers Of Newborns

Perhaps the most beautiful-and stressful-time in a woman's life is just after the birth of her child. Sleep-deprived and anxious, yet filled with overwhelming joy, mothers of newborns need communion with the heavenly Father more than they ever have before. I'm tired, Lord. I wish I could crawl up in someone's lap and cry, but I am the mother. I am the holder and protector. I am the giver of love and affection. I'm supposed to be strong, but I find myself depleted . . . God, You are my only source of strength and help. Only You can turn her weeping into shouts of joy. I ask You to come quickly and rescue us. Give calm and assurance to her little spirit. Let her rest peacefully. Give me strong arms to hold her for as many nights as she cries.
