Presents a study of the process of psychotherapy from a social constructionist perspective, using stage theory, the constructionist paradigm, and symbolic interaction theory to develop a heuristic stage model of therapeutic process. Examines both the therapist's and the client's perspectives of therapy, developing a picture of the ways in which therapeutic change is co-authored through conversation.
