Charles Lamb As the London Magazine's "Elia" (Studies in British Literature, V. 77)

Charles Lamb (1775-1834) was a writer of romantic prose whose most successful essays appeared in the London Magazine . In this study, Monsman (English, U. of Arizona) considers romantic symbolism in Lamb's prose. Particular attention has been paid to the interplay between Lamb's essay persona, "Elia," and the magazine's other contributors.
