Description:
This plastic-spiral-bound workbook is designed as a companion to the editors' Road Vehicle Dynamics, but contains adequate material to stand alone without the parent text. No previous knowledge of road vehicle dynamics is assumed. The book is organized around the concepts of road vehicle dynamics as they have been developed in the frequency and time domain for an introductory undergraduate or graduate course for engineering students of all disciplines, and contains about 300 example problems and detailed worked solutions. Theory is kept to a minimum, and necessary theory is presented in a heuristic and intuitive manner. Safety considerations are covered in most chapters throughout the book. Two complete chapters are devoted to roll dynamics and accident reconstruction to address the legal issues that may result from an automotive accident. About 250 pages of appendices offer background on vector algebra, matrice analysis, Laplace transforms, direct numerical integration methods, and accident reconstruction, as well as key terms, units, and conversions. The workbook is for senior undergraduate and graduate students in math, science, and engineering, as well as vehicle designers, developers, and evaluators. Information on the editor is not given.
