Monet's Passion- Gardens at Giverny 2020 Calendar
Description:
The great master of French impressionism, Claude Monet (1840–1926) had a genius for observing and interpreting the interplay of color, light, and atmosphere. Along with his painting, Monet spent years creating a symphony of hues and textures in the flowers and foliage that surrounded his home in Giverny.
Photographer and renowned horticultural designer Elizabeth Murray fell in love with the artist’s cherished gardens in 1984, helped in the restoration efforts, and has been studying the garden with her photographer’s eye ever since, capturing the changing nuances of light and color that glimmer on its petals and pond.
A thorough description and a quotation from Monet or one of his contemporaries accompany each of the 53 photographs in this calendar.
