Germany 1927) is a colorist—perhaps the foremost American colorist—who uses the visible landscape as a base from which to explore startling interactions of vivid colors, often evoking subtle sensory pleasures. Kahn is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters and has been honored with Fulbright and Guggenheim fellowships. His work resides in the permanent collections of many prestigious museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Twelve of Kahn's luminous creations are featured in this calendar.
