Introduction to Military History
Description:
This book, reprinted from the edition of 1929, is based on 3 years' experience in conducting a course in military history in the Princeton Univ. unit of the Field Artillery R.O.T.C. It met the official requirements in respect of the study of American military history and military policy prescribed for such courses. It should also prove of interest and value to reserve officers, to C.M.T.C. graduates, and to lay readers interested in military history. The book is divided into 3 parts: The Development of Arms and Armies; American Military Policy; and American Wars and Campaigns. The nation's military policy in peace and war is analyzed in two chapters, and the more important parts of the National Defense Act are given in the appendix. Charts, tables and maps.
