Einstein Syndrome: Bright Children Who Talk Late

Two separate studies of children who are exceptionally bright, & at the same time exceptionally late in beginning to speak, provide the background for the story of these children & their anguished parents. Those who have grown to adulthood include both famous & unknown individuals. This book explores the scientific question as to why some highly intelligent people have been years behind schedule in developing the ability to speak. Also explores the question of how parents can cope with problems of a late-talking child & the often much bigger problems of school officials & others who want to shunt them off into programs that may or may not help them, & have too often done them harm.
