Community-based Mass Prophylaxis: A Planning Guide for Public Health Preparedness

Provides an overview of the 5 components of a mass prophylaxis response to epidemic outbreaks: surveillance, stockpiling, distribution, dispensing, & follow-up. It then focuses on planning & conducting dispensing operations using specially-designated dispensing clinics. These concepts are then put to work in developing sample antibiotic dispensing & vaccination clinic plans that can be runÓ using a separate customizable computer planning model, the Bioterrorism & Epidemic Outbreak Response Model, developed in conjunction with this planning guide.
