Nature Cross-sections

Animal habitats are shown in this book through the use of cross-sectioning. The illustrations cut across, up, down and through, showing the reader every hidden detail. The animals are there too, shown following their daily routine. The reader is taken to the tops of trees, into the rainforest, through deserts, rock pools and oceans. Each element is thoroughly labelled, enabling a child to identify every part of the animal's habitat and understand the environment that surrounds it. The text provides detailed information about how the animals live and explains why the environment of many animals is under threat.
