How Children Lived

This is a first history book. Here are the accounts of 16 children who lived at different times - from ancient Egypt to 1920s USA. Each describes what life as a child was like then, and talks about events and objects that fashioned their lives. Frieze-style borders and artwork scenes illustrate typical events in each child's day. Photos of artefacts show the real objects they would have used. This book offers a visual "you-are-there" approach to history for young readers enabling them to compare their lives with those of children in the past. It covers 16 periods in world history including key areas of studies in the National Curriculum for this age group.
