Tony Johnson was a wireless operator/airgunner in a Vickers Wellington bomber during WWII. Shot down over Germany, he parachuted to safety and in spite of a valiant effort to evade capture, he was apprehended and sent to a prisoner-of-war camp. But Johnson had no intention of remaining a prisoner and looked for every opportunity to escape.
