It's drizzly November in the Hop Valley and computer software entrepreneur Alison Hope is getting restless. So when her old friend, Philip Hunter, begs her to come to London and help track down a computer fraudster, she accepts eagerly - much to the dismay of Inspector Nick Trevellyan, her friend and lover, who senses trouble - even danger - ahead.
