Plain Girl

Janice Sessions, a Jewish New Yorker, feels compromised by her plain looks. To compensate, she explores other male company when her communist husband goes to war. They divorce, and in post-war New York, Janice discovers her independence, eventually finding fulfilment with a blind musician.
