"The best tipster in the country" is how the newspapers describe Toby Brown. Having picked fifteen winners from the last seventeen selections, he's set every racing tongue wagging. Then his dead body is found, and Simon Jefferies -- who'd been asked by the Jockey Club to look into Toby's activities -- discovers that there was more to his success rate than just a lucky run.
