Eon and Eternity

Greg Bear's believable hard Science Fiction features his emphasis on character development, often from multiple points of view, and his deliberately detailed atmosphere. Bear has the ability to extrapolate scientific and technological trends into the far future, while exploring human reactions to entirely plausible scenarios. The development of the characters draws out the pacing of these stories and contributes to the often dark atmosphere, creating a menacing tone that reinforces readers' connections with and concern for his characters.
