Wings: Distinguished Student Essays, 21th Edition Paperback

This book was bought new and never used. WINGS is a collection of distinguished student writing gleaned from the freshman composition courses at California State University, Northridge. The editors are composition instructors. They work closely with other faculty to select the premier student essays over the course of one academic year. These essays encompass several genres including personal narrative, in-class, argument and engage a wide range of topics. All freshman composition courses in the English department use the newest edition of WINGS as a required text. Instructors incorporate WINGS in their classes in various ways-for instance, to exemplify successful and unsuccessful writing strategies, to guide in-class exercises and to learn how to peer edit. Perhaps most importantly, WINGS expands the audience for student writing beyond teacher or classmates in an immediate and tangible format.
