Vietnam: A Transition Tiger?

Against the prediction of proponents of the Washington Consensus, the economic program of Viet Nam has been fairly successful at promoting economic growth and alleviating poverty during the 1990s. This work describes the Vietnamese programs and assesses their impacts, noting that the economic indicators serve as a lesson that core assumptions of the neoliberal Washington Consensus are wrong.
