Covers all the species of birds recorded from the Western Australia and its offshore islands including Ashmore reef, Christmas and Cocos Keeling Islands. This is Volume one which covers the non passerine birds. Each species is comprenhensively treated with informaton. Distribution maps and species accounts compiled from a data bank with over 2 million records will provided a benchmark for future studies. Forty five specially commissioned plates prepared by five prominent Western Australian artists with reference to museum specimens and photographs.
