General zoology

Excerpt from preface: "It would appear to be customary in the Preface of a revised edition of a textbook to state that "this is a thorough revision." With this new edition of General Zoology that statement is true to an unusual extent. We have been joined by a new co-author, Dr. Robert Barnes of Gettysburg College; we have extensively rearranged the order of the subjects considered; and we have a wealth of new illustrative material in addition to revising much of the text. The survey of the animal phyla has been moved to Part Three since we believe it can be better appreciated following a study of general animal structure and function."
