Written by a British author who has written extensively on aviation and has won gliding championships. During World War Two she ferried planes without radio. Pilot's A Flying Manual is a revised and expanded version of her book Cloud Reading for Pilots (1943). Pilot's Weather is based on her flying and gliding experiences in the U.S. and abroad. Chapters on weather maps and forecasts; relation of weather in flight to forecast on paper; weather in air such as frontal situations and turbulence or ice. Illustrated with photos by the author and NASA satellite photos, diagrams, weather maps, and there are personal narratives about weather problems in flight. Includes appendix and index.
