The Country Diary Birds of the Countryside

This guide to bird identification is based on Edith Holden's observation in "The Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady". It contains many of her water colours. Arranged in monthly order from January to December, this book enables bird lovers to turn to the relevant months and determine what type of birds can be found in the countryside. References are made to different habitats: woodland, in-shore, estuarine and sea, as well as the garden. Also included are detailed descriptions of the birds and their behavioural patterns such as breeding and nest building.
