Cork and Kerry are home to some of Ireland's most popular travel destinations This is the most south westerly region of Ireland with rugged peninsulas, clean beaches, towering mountains and some of Ireland's most famous landmarks. The counties of Cork and Kerry , famous rivals in sport, are equally famous for their natural beauty and hospitality. Historically the geographical area now comprised of Counties Cork and Kerry was known as Ivernia. The region is historically and culturally important and still has a number of Gaeltacht areas where Irish is the primary spoken language. Visits to islands such as the Blaskets, Garnish and Cape Clear are particular treats while the Ring of Kerry and Killarney town remain firm favourites year after year with both locals and tourists alike.
