The Kingdom of Kush is located south of Egypt upstream of the 1st Nile cataract. It flourished for a thousand years. During the 8th and 7th c BCE, its rulers controlled Egypt as pharaohs of the 25th Dynasty. Extensive remains of pyramids, settlements and temples can still be seen. Yet, the early development and much of the later history of Kush is unknown, and the Kushites have always been overshadowed by the Egyptians. This book attempts to draw together all the information of the people of Kush and their history.
