Dead on Time (Inspector Cobb)

When Jonathan Boot, the mayor of Mallerton District Council dies a very public and bizarre death in the middle of a council meeting, Inspector Cobb finds himself entering a world of suspicion, rumor, adultery, and deceit. Convinced that the mayor’s unexplained wealth is the key to solving the crime, Cobb has to decide where a missing art collection, the biggest surprise in horse-racing history and allegations of bribery fit into his investigation. Two further murders occur and Cobb fears a fourth victim is lined up, but although he knows who the potential victim might be, he doesn’t know why.
