The body of a young man is found in an alley. He has been stabbedto death and the murder weapon is lying close by. The fingerprints found on the knife prove to belong to a known associate of the deceased, but the officers of Glasgow's P Division do not accept things at face value and begin to unravel atale of premeditation and subterfuge. They follow a trail which leads via the squalid world of the drug addict, to the prosperous ambience of the city's most prominent citizens.
