Investigating the Eighteenth Century

The 18th century brought great change to Britain and the growth of trade and empire had an enormous impact on the country. This is a study of those changes using information gathered from the archives of properties now cared for by the National Trust. These archives show how the people, houses and estates were affected and children will learn about the changes in lifestyle and culture, the difference between town and country life, and see how education, industry and politics changed and developed.
