Review
"It is full of wonderful cultural stories and references, and with the sing-sonny nature of the rhyme and the vernacular, it's really fun to read. Rhyming text can be a tough sell, but I think it works here. I like the headstrong female protagonist, too!! The artwork is BOLD, but then again - so is she! I think it matches the story nicely."- Christy EwersThe CAT Agency, Inc.\n"The illustrations go beyond the colorful ones that you expect from a children's book... After each reading, I found new details in the illustrations that told the story outside of the words on the page."- Eva Wilson (Soca Mom) \n"I love stories that allow me to read them with my whole body. When I read I Am the Midnight Robber aloud, the rhyme and movement of the words had me moving my shoulders and swaying as if the sounds of Carnival were playing behind them." Eva Wilson (Soca Mom) \n"For me, the deepest meaning of the story lies in self-acceptance and good parenting. It is a feminist story, and it's also a great example of parents allowing their children to explore their nature...This story casts a new image for a modern generation of Caribbean parents, who embrace daughters (and sons) for their uniqueness, especially traits that aren't typically "girly" and don't condemn them for their quirks." - Stephanie Ramlogan\nAbout the Author
