We live in a world that is spinning out of control in so many ways. Watch any news program anywhere in the world and you will be told of an extremist or an enemy or people who are the other to you - across socio-economic, religious, racial, and cultural lines.What if, rather than vilifying or seeking to eliminate the other, we sought to understand them and even learn from them? Would our communities change? Would we be changed?When we participate in shalom we participate with God in the healing, redemption, and reconciliation of the world.
