In addition to many stories connected to his teaching, the author has been involved in numerous political campaigns and played an extensive role in the 1988 presidential election. The book discusses the author's encounters with national politicians including John Kennedy, Barry Goldwater and Tip O'Neill.The author was involved in the campaign to save historic Prowse Farm, an effort led by his friend Harvey Robbins. Many dramatic moments occurred during this campaign as a citizen group battled a major corporation and confronted a dishonest politician. These events are recounted in the book.The author has maintained a strong interest in the arts. Two books of his paintings have been published by Artopia Press and many of his songs have been performed and recorded. His interest in the arts is discussed in the book.For several years the author has been engaged in boycotting a grocery chain in Massachusetts. This effort has led to many revealing experiences which are recounted in the book.
