A marathon nine hours talking on the phone, is just one of the conversations between a woman fleeing Nazi Germany and a mysterious stranger on the other end of the line. He claims to be a friend of the man she has come to Paris to look for, and he seems to know everything about her. The police arrive and take her for questioning.
