The first part of this study presents translations from the works of Francois Quesnay including the Encyclopedie articles "Corn," "Men," and "Taxation" as well as his Dialgoue on the Work of Artisans," and "General Maxims." The second part reproduces interpretative essays and commentaries on the tableau, the Physiocratic concept of profit, early theories of underconsumption and the relationship between Physiocracy and classicism.
