This book is suitable for age 6-7 (first grade). A good variety of stories that appeal to kids make up the text. The book is divided into three sections (Helping Out, Good Days and Here Come the Animals), and instructions for activities that enhance the reading experience are provided. The authors have also made efforts to make the book politically correct, as the characters are of a varied backgrounds.
