Description:
The accidental discovery of a mysterious fossil skull unleashes a political and scientific struggle as a paleoanthropologist tries to confirm that the skull represents proof of a missing link, while in the Punjab, two nuclear powers draw ever closer to war. Simultaneous.\nFrom AudioFile\nThe mystery of mankind and his ancestors is always a fascinating arena for mystery novels. In Philip Kerr's seventh novel, he tackles the discovery of a hominid skull in the Himalayas and its subsequent effect on the academic and governmental arenas. David Purdham does a fine job with the palette of foreign accents the story requires and an admirable job with narration that is, at times, stilted and obvious. Overall, though, the story is intriguing, and Purdham keeps listeners riveted. R.A.P. (c)AudioFile, Portland, Maine
