This publication is the second supplement to the 1992 catalog and udates information from 1995 to the end of 1999. A bibliography including over 1300 references is included. A complete index to all species names, both valid and invalid, of the world fauna Scolytidae and Platypodidae is included. Approximately 7000 species of Scolytidae and 1500 species of Platypodidae occur throughout the world. For workers in forestry and agriculture, the sheer volume of names and literature references represents a formidable obstacle to research.
