The love languages of God

Through his best-selling series of resources, Dr. Gary Chapman has defined key ways in which couples, parents, children, and teens communicate and understand love. These five "love languages," as he calls them, include: words of affirmation, quality time, gifts, physical touch, and acts of service. Based on the trade book of the same title, this small-group discipleship study expands on these practical, biblical principles by showing how they apply to the One who loves us most. "I believe that human love relationships reflect the nature of God, who is love," says the author. "If we can understand the dynamics of human love, it will help us understand the expressions of divine love." Certainly, God expresses His love for us in many ways-and fluently. Still, we may not always understand. So the purpose of this study is to change the way people relate to God and bring them closer to Him. Then they can experience His limitless love.
