Keep Laughing
Description:
Keep Laughing is the autobiography of Devon Blood, a Bay Area tattooer, artist, and skateboarder. In 2006, at the age of twenty-six, he was the victim of a near-fatal gunshot wound to the head. Truly lucky to be alive, when he awoke from a medically induced coma weeks later, he found that he had lost precise muscle control on the right side of his body. In particular, he suffered severe muscle tremors in his right hand, and Devon is right-handed. He knew he would never be able to ride a skateboard or a two-wheeled bicycle again, but nothing could come between Devon and his love of art and tattooing. Overcoming doubts of his doctors and therapists while surprising and inspiring everyone around him, he trained himself to use his left hand how he once used his right. He now paints, draws, and tattoos left-handed. Devon tells his incredible story as no one else could, and his words are accompanied with personal photographs documenting his life and rehabilitation, as well as original artwork from before, during, and after his recovery.
