Description:

Behind The Walls of The Old Stone House has lived in the author's imagination for years before coming to fruition in full format. The inspiration for this story was an old stone house she once owned in New Ipswich, New Hampshire, and some unexpected inhabitants hiding in the walls-spiders. It wasn't long after the author and her family moved into the house that the unexpected residents scurried across the kitchen floor after the wood stove was lit. They were startled and couldn't believe what they saw. Her son, noticing her fright, escorted his mom to her bedroom and returned to the kitchen to help rid the house of the eight-legged creatures. However, the spiders soon turned into a muse for the author, who looked out her bedroom window that evening and came up with the idea to add fiction to what really happened. But to make it work, she would have to make the spiders her friends and they would have to agree they would not frighten each other, and convince the spiders that she would not hurt them. The tale is spun with threats of extermination by the new human residents of the house and plans of counterattacks by the spider family, consisting of cousins, grandparents, aunts and uncles, which lived in the house for a century. In the end, when it becomes time to decide who will stay in the house both parties find communication works best at resolving their issue.
