Picture a brute in a backwater whose word is law. Here, the fix is in and those in the know are on the take. Now, hang it in the dawn of the Italian Renaissance. Count Ambrogio rules from his crime capital, Fabriano, a tough, underprivileged sort of town surrounded by hostile mountains swarming with cutthroats.
