The Art of the Aztecs

The Aztecs were the last of the great pre-Columbian Central American peoples, and although theirs is regarded as a blood-thirsty society dedicated to war, plunder and human sacrifice, there are many more aspects revealed in monuments and artefacts that have survived to this day. This work studies the culture of this civilization through its artistic heritage, with reproduced examples of household materials, architectures, codices, religious items, weapons, jewellery and textiles, providing an insight into the daily lives, beliefs and turbulent history of the Aztecs.
