Disillusioned with Cornwallis's scorched earth policy in South Carolina, and to win the love of the passionately patriotic Media Gant DeVoe, Tory Sergeant Buck McCalister turns his coat and becomes a spy for General Francis Marion, the Swamp Fox. As the war draws to a close, with Media's love still in the balance, McCalister is sent to capture the notorious Nehemiah Youngblood, his former commanding officer, and the last Tory Militia Colonel still fighting in South Carolina.
