Care, Communities, and Citizens

Changes within health and social care systems over the last five years have given greater prominence to the 'consumption' alongside the 'production' of welfare. The policy of 'community care' for elderly and disabled people provides a particular focus for understanding such changes. This book analyses transformations in the health and social services care over the last five years and considers what is meant by the term community care as the 20th century draws to a close.
