Based on a true story, Scarlet Gaines is a struggling single mother of two teenagers who is by her mother's side during her battle with cancer. One week after her mother passed away, her step-father of twenty-six years, disowns Scarlet and her children, and files a Civil lawsuit against her. This story is about abuse in a second marriage, betrayal of family, hypocrisy in the church, and the consequences of narcissism. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this book will be donated to National Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
