Sea Lessons

A chapter book with illustrations on each page, for Grades 2-5. The focus of the book is on learning the meanings of homophones, which are used throughout the story. There are many life lessons in the story as well. This fictional story, with a few non-fiction elements, takes place in an underwater setting. The 3 main characters, Vile, Mince, and Dense, are different kinds of sharks with different characteristics. Initially, 2 of the sharks are picked on by the third shark, who is a bully. The 2 friends learn many valuable lessons throughout the story, which enable them to eventually impress the bully with their bravery and heroism. At the end of the story, the 3 sharks decide to create a team to try to tackle some of the issues in their environment.
